We're pleased to announce the first ride of the season will be Saturday April 6th at 9 am and for a departure shortly after. We look forward to re-vitalizing our spirit and energy, or saying this another way, getting our old mojo back; and of course introducing ourselves to new members and dusting off old friendships. Let's go for it and get that exercise and pudge burning all fired up.
Our first ride will be relatively light and relaxing with the goal of getting comfortable again in the saddle and over a medium non-challenging distance. The great thing is we can all decide together what to do and the route. There's plenty of latitude: some riders may wish to ramp quickly and we celebrate that whilst others may wish for a slower pace -- all of it is fab.
See y'all on April 6th!
Greater Vancouver's first major public ride of the cycling season is the Pacific Populaire. Since its inception in 1986 the focus of this event has been to encourage participation by all cyclists regardless of fitness level, cycling experience, or age. For many riders it is an opportunity to enjoy a relaxed spring ride, fresh air, and exercise in the company of other riders in our vibrant cycling community.
There are several ways to register for the Pacific Populaire - find details on the Registration Page. The starts for the various distances will be a few minutes apart, starting with the 100 km leaving at 9 a.m. sharp. The start is on Ontario Street.
